Stafford County's seventeen elementary schools are modern, air conditioned facilities with an estimated enrollment of 11,599 students in kindergarten through fifth grades for the 2012-2013 school year. All classes at this level are heterogeneously grouped and emphasis is placed on the core academic areas of language arts and math, integrated with science and social studies.

Weekly, students receive instruction in art and music, as well as instruction from librarians. Students in the first through fifth grades participate in physical education classes twice a week. Kindergarten students attend a full-day program. All of our students have access to computer-assisted instruction. Many elementary students enjoy after-school enrichment clubs and take advantage of before or after school foreign language instruction.
